If you haven't heard, read or seen Brené Brown's research about vulnerability, shame, courage, and daring greatly...then where have you been people! This work has impacted my life and the lives of many people worldwide. She is the latest 'it' woman in self-development...and I'd like to share her with you!

This first TEDtalk went viral overnight, causing Brené to practice what she's been preaching, by risking her vulnerability to share her findings and herself.  For those of you who have yet to see Brené's TEDtalk on The power of vulnerability, click the video below and be prepared to be awed and entertained!
"Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen."
— Brené Brown (Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead)

Due to her amazing work which speaks to us all, and especially women, Brené has recently guest starred (twice!) with Oprah on her Super Soul Sunday's TV show, and I'm guessing there will be more shared work with these two powerhouse women in the near future! To see the transformation that Brené has gone through between her first TEDtalk and the Oprah episodes is simply amazing...and incredibly inspiring! It just goes to show that you never know what wondrous things lie just around the next corner!

In her second TEDtalk, Brené went even deeper than vulnerability...

She hit the wall of shame!
The shame of not being good enough is a big one for me...but being the inspirator that I am, I wanted to risk being vulnerable to share this with you. I think most people somewhere deep down feel that they aren't good enough, pretty enough, smart enough...well, I guess we just all feel that we're not ENOUGH...period!

I'm not here to teach you how to be enough for yourself because that's not what I do. The best thing I can do for you, is learn to be enough for me and show you that being enough is possible. One of my favourite quotes below is what I will leave you with today...I hope you find some truth in it for you...

For another day, I am passionately yours,

I love how you sign off! Veyr cool! I am a huge fan of Brene' Brown - I have her books Gifts of Imperfection and Daring Greatly among some others! I have found that being vulnerable has endeared myself to others - often silent witnesses who show up in my back channels when they hit crisis - knowing I've been there and I can help them! Courage is as great as the rewards! Love your post! UBC helped me discover you tonight!

I hadn't heard of Brene until recently when her name has come up several times. I think one time was someone who saw her on Soul Sunday and another is a friend who is reading Brene's book.
Guess it's a sign, I'm supposed to hear her message.
Thanks.

I would say it's most definitely a message Debra! Brené's message is powerful...and now I've put it all in one tidy package for you (and everyone else of course)...I hope you get as much, or more, out of her messages as I did...!!

What participants have to say

"I thoroughly  recommend attending Ava’s seminar, it is very thought provoking and enlightening. It also helped me to gain perspective about what really matters at the end of the day. Ava’s embraced the day with sensitivity and humour and I left feeling like I had gained clarity in being able to come to terms with death."
