![]() Before I get to the single most effective way to love your life, I'd like to let you in on one of my growing pet peeves... I am not one to complain about how others go about their business, but there is a trend out there right now that just rubs me up one side and down the other, the wrong way! I suppose it's because of how I live my life...and it's what I'm going to share with you in a moment...but first...my pet peeve... We all want life to come to us at a faster rate these days, right? I love those quick quotes, usually in front of some beautiful image, telling me to live in the moment, to be happy, to laugh, and to love the people in my life or some other great words of wisdom by sages past. They provide me with a short burst of inspiration to carry me through my day. If I'm real trouble I'll read a bunch of them because eventually one will sink in deeply enough to put me back on my path to living my passionate life and usually with a silly grin on my face, too! The other way I love getting information is by watching a short TEDtalk on some subject that I'd never heard of but find amazingly fascinating, like William Li who talks about starving cancer through eating a plant-based diet, or Brené Brown's talk on the power of vulnerability, and even what Bobby McFerrin does with his audience! The benefit of these videos is that they're often under 20 minutes and they fill my head with inspiration to love my life and do it now. So...my pet peeve...here it is...and please, if you do this don't take what I'm about to say personally, it's not you, it's the trend of writing articles on... 10 ways to...7 simple techniques to...30 reasons not to...5 uses for...23 must haves for...15 reasons you should never...are you getting my gist? But don't get me wrong! I think the information is often useful and very valuable...but the richness of life seems to be missing from these shortened versions of self-mastery. Something is missing or irks me when I see a number attached to a title on how to live my life. For me, there really is only one simple reason to...live and love my life right now... Because I might not get a tomorrow in which to do any of those tasks listed in that article telling me it only takes ten steps to whatever it is the authors want me to know! That I am going to die one day, maybe today, is the only reason to live and love my life right now. I need no other watered down version of this. There is no softer way to lessen the blow that we all die. Knowing this fact inspires and motivates me like nothing else I have ever read or experienced. And I hope, in doing what I do, to inspire you as well...here's some more inspiration if you need it... For today I am...
Passionately yours, Ava
